As a bio-design researcher, I explore how new materials, ecological thinking, and design systems can contribute to more conscious, climate-responsive futures. My practice bridges research and real-world application—whether by working with emerging biomaterials or helping brands evolve their design languages to align with regenerative principles.

Invention is often understood as bringing something into existence for the first time. Innovation, by contrast, is not defined by origin but by transformation. It begins after invention, when an idea is recontextualised, iterated upon, and integrated into broader systems of use. An invention like a new fiber, an algae fiber in the strict sense; it is the result of decades of accumulated innovation layered onto a basic communicative function. Innovation, in this way, is not a rupture but a negotiation—between material, method, purpose, and need.
